intro:

A car is a four wheeled motorized gas guzzling vehicle used to move people from A to B. This article explores not only cars

but the vast road networks, concrete parking jungles, and mind boggling mentality designed solely to

accommodate and facilitate a deeply flawed deadly idea. A critical waste of irreplaceable resources.

Missing the mark:

What is a car supposed to do? move a person! Using this definition we can gather quite easily that the objective

of a car is not to move thousands of pounds of steel and fibre glass but to move the flesh and blood of a single

person or a small group of people.  The average weight of a car: 4000 lbs(pounds) and average weight of a person: 137 lbs (pounds).

a “smart” car is smart because its tiny and does the same job as the boats we use.

Now you may be asking yourself is there any other ways to move people that don’t require moving 4 thousand pounds? yes, since

the dawn of mankind humanity has moved themselves for less than 4 thousand pounds. These include walking, biking, running, buses,

horses, trains, rickshaw, and even cable cars. Maybe not cable cars.

moving 4 thousand pounds when the objective is to move 136-800 pounds: grade F

“nobody drives in new york there’s too much traffic”

Move a person where? to school, work, friends, family, etc. Oh boy don’t we all want to live in the country, but all the jobs are in the city!

Ideally in transportation we’d like speed and efficiency. Now get this, 4,000 pound vehicles are huge!!! Let’s be generous and say the

average male shoulder width is 20 inches and a very general car width is 600 inches. Now the average two lane road is 24 feet wide.

so you can fit two cars on a 2 lane road obviously or 14 men side to side. The sheer size of cars causes grid lock. Getting these massive

boulders to move in all directions is impossible to do efficiently. Just watch rush hour anywhere! There’s even delivery services

in New York city that are solely pedal bikes because of the sheer efficiency gain.

Too big, grade C – obviously it’s still possible to get somewhere with a car.

Move how? With cars it’s unusual to think past the cars and engine when thinking about movement. However, think about

a car moving through a jungle. The sheer impossibility of a car moving through a jungle. The entire city landscape

is sculpted around accommodating cars not people. You don’t need to park a person after you’re done driving! You

don’t need gas stations to fuel up a person. Automated driving is the idea that a car drives itself which is only possible

if people are not part of the transportation equation. Parking on the sides of roads, parkades, 4 lane roads, etc all this

junk is unnecessary without cars. Cars spend 95% of their time being parked.

In L.A. car parking takes up 17,020,594 square meters of land, which is a hell

of a lot of land even more so if you understand all this land can be built upwards into the sky. 50 to 60% of all downtown

city landscape is devoted entirely to vehicles. Cars literally expand cities and completely fuel urban sprawl.

If cities built themselves around transporting people instead of accommodating cars everything could be closer together and easier to get to.

cars literally increases the distance of the destination – grade F

is it safe to drive? no.

“The United States is one of the busiest countries in terms of road traffic with nearly 264 million vehicles registered and 218 million drivers holding a valid driving license. The level of traffic is one of the reasons leading to more traffic accidents: In 2015, there were some 6.3 million fatal, injury, and property damage crashes that occurred in the U.S. alone.”  – https://www.statista.com

This may surprise you but driving is a sedimentary activity. Moving and getting places used to be a physical activity.

With this logic if you were to move to get places you will burn some calories and be more fit.

//(do some fancy formatting, g dog)

of the top ten most probably ways to die these are directly car related:

1.Heart disease – being overweight – car use related

4. Accidents – literal death by driving – also includes falling(not nearly as deadly)

5. stroke – bad blood flow – car related

6. cancer – everything is linked to cancer… especially being fat, not moving, and poisonous gas.

7.Diabetes – being overweight – car use related

9. Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome and nephrosis – kidney failure, diabetes – being overweight.

Let’s talk about headlights for a hot minute!! headlights help you see??? do they though?

sure if you’re the only person on the road headlights are great! But get this! people in the oncoming

lane are subjected to your insanely bright headlights. As a person who walks at night, I can

with all certainty tell you that I cannot see at all with oncoming traffic lights.

cars are the biggest contributor to insta death and gradual death – grade F

are cars good for the environment? nope.

Besides the obvious runs on fossil fuel and spews out toxic rain, cars also are giant material pieces of

garbage.  Look at Beijing all that poison air is due to adopting the car and burning coal. Can anybody

defend acid rain as being anything other than terrible for the environment? All this

oil and gas everywhere works its way into soil, lakes, and waterways. You better

believe breathing in small amounts of carbon monoxide everywhere and everyday is linked to cancer.

So we have giant hunks of garbage, smog and acid rain, and fluids that are all poison leaking everywhere – grade F,

are cars financially feasible?:

I need my car to drive to work!! or you could just not drive and work half as much!

Transport on average costs 20% of after tax income. That’s after the government has

already taken as much of your money as they can get away with.

Just ignoring that lots of people buy cars brand new with horrifying interest rates for 1 second

And let’s ignore that vehicles do not hold their value at all due to the fact they fall apart.

let’s run down a feasible cost of a car/truck for a thrifty driver.

  • The average pickup truck costs $3,000 worth of gas a year
  • 500-700$ in repairs per year
  • parking $185 and $650
  • $1,680 average annual premium – in british columbia
  • The cost of the car

These are the complete basic costs of owning a car without even delving into a car loan.

Heaven forbid you get into a car accident.

Working to save time – grade F

are cars globally financially feasible? – There’s only so much effort available. Sounds weird right? Cities are completely designed around

car use. Let’s say that cities were completely designed around bike use? Just how much different would the city

be? Just how much money and resources get put into maintaining vast road networks and parkades? Drivers drive

and spout “errrmager my gas taxes paid for these roads”. Has this person ever used a bike lane? Unlike roads

that literally crumble and split from the constant bombardment of cars, bike lanes require far less resources

to both make and maintain. Functionally, bike lanes serve the same purpose as car lanes: to move people.

Oh and to debunk the myth, gas taxes don’t completely pay for road networks. The sheer amount of

effort far exceeds the meager gas tax for america.

stats – math of the storm

let’s start with efficiency!! how efficient are engines? 25 to 50% of all the work of an engine runs off as heat. After

wind resistance, friction, idling, breaking, etc the efficiency plummets down to 12%-30%. But wait!!! we’re only out to move

a person not the vehicle as described above! so moving 4,150 pounds instead of 150 pounds means that only 3.6% of the weight

we’re moving actually matters! IE a bike is 15 pounds, so we’d be moving 165 pounds instead of the 150 we want to.

meaning bikes are moving 90% of what actually matters! so let’s average car efficiency to 20% with a realization that

some people drive older gas guzzlers and none aerodynamic boat cars in a city environment.

Then take into account we only want to move 3.6% of the total actual weight we are moving and blamo

0.7% are what we are left with… 0.7% of the gas you put into a car goes into actually moving you… abysmal.

But wait cars require roads!! Do cars destroy the roads they use?

roads in america are designed on average to last 20 years. This problem transcends personal car usage and

is exponentially compounded by large shipping trucks. Some Roman roads have lasted over 2000 years.

*how dead are you in a car accident part: weight of a newton is a falling apple, use 1/2 mvsquared. *

crumbling roads – numbers

vehicle impact super death

(warped mentality part) Okay so you’re in your giant steel box flying down the road at 60 kilometers an hour and

you hit a child who just ran out onto the road. They’re super extra dead and nobody is

at fault because it’s an accident? How many meat sacs people or animals are killed

by these accidents every year? In 2010, there were an estimated 5,419,000 crashes – wiki

at what point does this stop being an accident? Everybody I know has been in a car “accident”

These are preventable deaths. Expecting the driver and the victim to both be faultless is insane.

The best way to prevent this accident is to not drive your steel box ever.

There’s always going to be accident with the driver at fault or the victim.

From the moment you start your vehicle you have become the only controllable factor in a potential accident.

Oil has been around for millions of years yet suddenly now that the substance is useful you have rights over it?

because you sucked it from the ground? why does this generation feel that every person is entitled to 10,000 barrels

of oil each? When nobody in history has ever consumed or used so much of a resource that’s irreplaceable. Our

future generations will not have or be entitled to 10,000 barrels each because there won’t be any left.

Oil is basically magic, a millennia of stored sunlight in a thick sludge. And we waste it to move a half ton

of steel and fibre glass to pick up hot pockets. And let’s think of the future we are handing to our next

generation? there is none plain and simple. Our greed is handing them a doomed world.

regardless of the wonky mainstream opinion, moving 4 thousand pounds extremely quickly

implies responsibility,.

-cars are in the top ten ways to die and contribute to 4 of the other risk factors.

the little things. Getting groceries home. Keep warm, or cooling off while in transport.

Health??? more like who the hell knows anything.

0

Ohhhh, science… Who doesn’t love science? make a warm box for me to live in. Put a smaller colder box

inside of my warm box for all my perishable food items. Giving me lights from the flow of a river.

Science might as well be magic… Until… Health. Duhnt duhn daaaaa!!!

Why does science falter at health? Too many variables. Too many outcomes. Too many flawed studies. Too many

greedy people. Let’s dive in! Eat a diet of completely meat!!! Let’s only eat raw organic plants!!!

New super food from the depths of the amazon! Milk is a superfood! Milk causes cancer!

Let’s only eat noon on monday’s during summer solstice. Flip the food pyramid upside down for best results!

Nearly everybody is too fat. And nearly everybody will pay for an easy solution that helps them lose weight.

Obviously this easy solution doesn’t exist or everybody would be thin right? The same exact logic of a penis

enlargement pill. If anything worked we’d all have the largest penises in history. Can you find penis

enlargement pills online? yes. Can you find fad diets with no merit whatsoever? yes. Both are backed

by the same science. A nasty type of science that wills results through manipulation of results

or just simply out right fails on repetition. Pseudoscience is the tool of the snake oil salesmen.

Food studies are flawed right out of the gate because of our nasty little friend genetics. Smoke

for fifty years? no problem says good genetics!!! Trick knee? not today, says good genetics.

Rare blood born disease? what’s that? says good genetics. Everybody is their own person!

Food is no different some people can just eat more than others and not gain weight.

Which is obviously a bad trait 1000 years ago is now super desirable. Even just a

ten percent faster metabolism is a huge difference between two people. Yes,

any studies comparing metabolism suffer from the same flaws as food studies.

Unless you locked people in boxes and fed them the same foods. Also, thinking

burns a surprising amount of calories so you know sedated them too with drugs.

hmm, i’m getting a nazi style case study idea.

People move!!! different activity levels across the board from person to person.

how do you measure every activity every person does that affects calorie consumption?

You don’t. Any study that wants people to lose weight eating such and such cannot

take into account fully every individuals movement. What if one person eats your

new acacia berry, weasel dropping infused, raw, organic, gluten free, MSG infused,

Shakara, milk imitation, shake then goes for a 10 k run everyday for 10 years??? how

much did your shake do??? Placebo effect?? points!!! per mayhap?

psychology? the enemy of science. Two arch rivals since the dawn of time… What

if you just commit to a healthier lifestyle? What if at the same time you’re taking

that new multi-vitamin you are actively trying to make positive changes in your life?

How do studies take into account lifestyle changes? Say you simply believe the

new fat burner deluxe veggie burgers are helping with your salt and fat cravings

and you somehow drive by mcdonalds instead of ordering two of everything on

the menu. There’s no way studies that involve groups of people can get fair

comparisons across the information. People may just be ready for a positive

change and take the many small steps necessary for a healthy life. Others

may just simply cheat and report the information desired for the study.

The unjust war on saturated fat and MSG. what is MSG? it’s like a salt…

MSG is literally made from seaweed broth… Seaweed broth is your enemy?

Or maybe it’s because MSG is commonly found in ethnic foods (from a white person

perspective) and waayyyy back when the burger and fries industry was under

direct assault from american Chinese food industry. And thus the smear campaign

on sea weed broth began with our wonderful pseudoscience. Saturated fat??? what

is it. Double bonded fat found in, butter, meat, cheese… And how long has humanity

eaten meat? Considering the higher protein found in meat was instrumental to us

growing such large brains i’d say since we were even a human species. Lactose

tolerance is a newish human trait, but I assure you cheese is edible.

The war on cholesterol?? Some dr. douche decided to try and make him self millions of

dollars by identifying what made america fat. He singled out cholesterol first

then doctored his results by looking at countries that ate rice instead of meat.

He obviously, ignored every country that ate cholesterol and was healthy a simple

mistake to make. So he cross reference america in comparison to other countries

with vastly different cultures and economics… vastly different everything.

Then he spent his entire life with his charts telling anybody who would listen

he solved obesity. And here we are like 80 years later… Fatter than ever

with a 400 million dollar cholesterol drug market. Remember when margarine

was healthy? Remember when everybody smoked? This is like 20 years ago…

What do you trust if you can’t trust anything? That food goru may look good but

he says nothing about the barrels of steroids he takes. Common sense is the

only thing you can fall back onto in the food wars. We’re basically food dumpsters

that can almost eat everything. Look at dogs, eating too much broccoli can hurt them.

Simple guide lines… Is it edible after a month of sitting out on the table? don’t eat it.

was it cooked in less than 4 mins? don’t eat it. Sugar water? nope.

comes from a tree! gobble down. A vine? oh yeah, chow town. Did it have a soul? get in you!

The real problem is chips are delicious and 3$ for a family sized bag. I have 3$… danggit.

Let’s buy a house! And then buy a better house for less!

0
(edit and make better)
two types of people are immune to the economy, the rich and the poor.
Let’s buy a house under our socialist regime!!!
I earn 35,200$ yearly which is the median income in the country, so let’s say I have a wife who makes 70%
as much as I do (24,640$), cause she’s a girl and that’s how income works in the country. our combined
income is 59,840$ yearly.
Now the average house is 496,000$ in Canada. Yay, we would like to buy this house in 20 years!!!
what could possibly change or go wrong in 20 years? Let’s run numbers!! exciting.
amount: $496 000 >< Term:20 years >< Interest rate: 6%
Payment Every Month  $3,553.50 ><  $852,839.53 >< Total Interest  $356,839.53
we have no plans of eating, or traveling, or ever losing our jobs.
No plans of owning a car. Somehow we can put 100%
of our income into this house!!!
income tax on 60,000$ is 14,840.79$. we can now put 45,159.21$ a year into our lovely single level 2 bedroom house.
so we need $42,636 to pay our mortgage yearly. And wait… the bank doesn’t
own the house except if we don’t pay our bills so who pays the 2,000$
property tax, us the lucky home owners. that’s who.
so 42,636$/yearly not assuming anything goes wrong with the house or we want
any remodeling. Or you know furniture.
So, now let’s add up food or any purchases,
food, 600$ monthly + 14%(taxes yo)
car, 450$ monthly + 14%(insurance is government only) (repairs, initial car cost, gas)
entertainment 300$ +14% (let’s live it up!!) gambling, smoking, and soon pot is gov
utilities 300$ + 14%(also government!!)
Home costs 200$ (repairs)
  • $3,553 mortgage >< $2,109 life
so us two combined need an income of 5,662$ month X 1.3(income tax) = 7,360$
so under our socialist regime to live comfortably in a single level 2 bedroom house
we need 88,400$ income. The median income we have is 60,000$.
Now how does somebody rich approach the same level of comfort?
house bought in cash, savings $356,839.53 in interest.
housing cost per year, 2,000$(tax)
4 million in savings at 3% interest in T-bills which is government debt.
income 120,000 capital gains, 60,000$ then 20,000 year to live comfortable, with 40,000$ left per year
to do whatever they want with. Neither person works.
How does somebody poor approach this level of comfort?
They live in a bedroom paying the mortgage of the person who owns the house. and ironically still have to pay
6000$ a year more than somebody rich to reach this level of comfort. While being worth 790,000 less than
the rich person, which is the value of the house they don’t own.
under a libertarian government you ask?
income tax is the only tax – 20%
spending is slashed across the board, no printing of money. Gold standard.
A house is no longer a vehicle to protect against inflation. the price of the house is now slashed.
Approval and engineering whatever is no longer mandatory. New construction styles emerge. Approval for alternative
housing measures approved. More housing options available. The market dictates the viability. Further decreasing
housing cost.
The same house that was 790,000$ is now $200,000 With many more options to furnish or repair the home.
Including the ability to do your own repairs. All these new options all vary in price.
poor people still cannot afford this house. Rich people can still buy this home easily. However, the middle class. Those who
break their backs to build this country. the 35,000$ yearly, median earner can now afford a house.
facts:
this article is a far cry from being quantifiable thus all the facts are barely relevant. In order to form a fair
comparison there would need to be a libertarian government in power at the same time as
the same country is socialist. The only other comparison is looking at affordable housing prices
under more capitalistic/libertarian circumstances which is fair. There’s just too many circumstances
at play to create an accurate article, but an in general idea is still better than nothing.
